Have you heard of the holiday "Saint Valentine's Day?"

With the turn of the month, the upcoming date is on my mind. Preparations for any formal celebrations of the holiday at the mansion typically begin around this time.

In any case, for those who are unaware, allow me to share the tradition with you: Saint Valentine's Day is a celebrated time of romance, taking place on the 14th day of February — a tradition which dates back many centuries.

Some say the date marks the beginning of birds' mating season, explaining its romantic association, while others connect the day with the assumed date of the execution of Saint Valentine, who, in legend, married young lovers in secret, despite the church's outlawing of the practice. Quite the tragedy...

On this day, it is common for lovers and friends alike to exchange written cards, poems, flowers and sweets as tokens of their affection.

I suppose I am curious which of these gifts you would most prefer to receive. A card filled with heartwarming feelings? The soothing aroma of a bouquet? A satisfying treat?

Or, perhaps, there is something different altogether which would lighten your spirit on Saint Valentine's. Hehe... would you enlighten me?

For those of you who haven't met me, I'm River Kwan, 26/male/fit as hell. Just sayin' 'sup to my fellow guests and dishing out the real important news 😎

I've been sitting on it, but the circumstances with the lava and ice floors, make it pretty clear that major injuries are very likely if the hotel goes whack. No easy vacations for us 😔😔

But, I'm about to BLOW YOUR MINDS 🤯🤯🤯 You got a sprained ankle? Headaches? Experiencing weird symptoms? Any major broken bones or wounds from a possible skeleton army raising itself from Hell into space to destroy us all? Okay, that last bit is just me making shit up but you never know.

LUCKILY, I'm a healer. As long as you don't lose your limbs or other body parts, I can use my powers to heal any major injuries you may incur during your stay here. I'm also a licensed doctor (General Practitioner to be exact) so if you would like a basic physical and wellness check, look out for THIS handsome mug:

Since I've arrived here I've been exploring the place, but since it really is so huge... I was hoping I could gather some information from the rest of you.

I'd appreciate hearing about the various floors or rooms you've come across and what was in them. The strangest things you've seen, even.

There's only so much I can discover on my own, unfortunately, and I know that people have had... experiences, to say the least.

To my fellow guests:

First, I would like to thank everyone who attended Miss Amelia's book club meeting last week. Please remember to thank her for organizing it!

Secondly:

I'm sure we are all aware of supernatural or occult happenings taking place at the hotel from time to time.

That being the case, I would highly discourage anyone from remaining on the library floor after-hours. For one, it seems to decisively close at midnight, leaving you with no way to return to your suite, but also, it appears that a ghost may be haunting the premises thereafter.

[ or, you know, get trapped on purpose to have your own ghostly encounter (?) she's not your boss. ]

All to say: it may be unwise to spend the night at the library, no matter your skillset or ability or no matter how comfortable and cozy the seating there may be. The library houses many great works from across the universe, and I cannot stress enough the importance of ensuring no harm comes to such a collection. It would be best if we simply refrain from angering the after-hours ghost there.

So... please plan your visits accordingly.

Good evening.

I had an idea of what this place was when I accepted the invitation, but my understanding was flawed. It's been several days since we were "invited," but the picture isn't any clearer. If anything, I understand less and less what this hotel is.

We can reasonably assume the staff here is responsible for the poisonings/curses at the spa. At the same time as this, they've been feeding and housing us for free. If they wanted to actually hurt us, there's no reason they wouldn't have already.

There's also the matter of the "wish."

I'm posing the question to all of you to consolidate info. What is this hotel?

Where do you think we are?
Why were we invited?
