Good evening.
I had an idea of what this place was when I accepted the invitation, but my understanding was flawed. It's been several days since we were "invited," but the picture isn't any clearer. If anything, I understand less and less what this hotel is.
We can reasonably assume the staff here is responsible for the poisonings/curses at the spa. At the same time as this, they've been feeding and housing us for free. If they wanted to actually hurt us, there's no reason they wouldn't have already.
There's also the matter of the "wish."
I'm posing the question to all of you to consolidate info. What is this hotel?
Where do you think we are?
Why were we invited?

Do you truly believe that the staff were responsible for these occurrences? I suppose the ploy to force people to get to know each other at breakfast would certainly fall under their purview, but I find it premature and perhaps a little unfair to pin them for the rest.
[ She's going to whiteknight her fellow hospitality workers, okay. ]
The reason being... I believe that this hotel exists in its own plane of existence, or perhaps in the pocket of another, but to the same end: the common rules of reality do not apply here. I'm sure that one of the many more proficient and scholarly arcane academics here could explain it better than I can, but because of that...
It's likely that they have no control over some of the unusual feats of this place, either. Magic can be a wild, untamable entity, especially magic that is powerful enough to bring individuals of differing realities together into one place.
As for why we were invited... I hope to discuss this with Mr. Bennet.
Sincerely,
S.H.
ms silent hill...
In any case, my thoughts were similiar. You sound like you have experience with "magic" like this.
[ forgive his less-than-stellar spelling. at least he doesn't blink at the giant wall of text!! ]

I help my family run an inn with some similar features, as far as there being magic involved. Much smaller, and I daresay it is much more peaceful compared to this!
[ there have been NO ninja attacks since she took over operations. just saying. don't ask about how many times a week a tavern brawl breaks out, though. ]
As for magic itself, there are others here that are know far more about its inner workings. You'll likely find more cohesive answers from Mister Gale or Mister Winter. Of course, there's no guaranteed that the same manner of magic is at play here.

Could this hotel's size mean it's harder to control? More powerful?

Well, I wouldn't go so far as to say that... The real experts are my relatives, but unfortunately I'm the only one who's here at the moment. But I'll do my best to answer any questions based on my own experiences...
Which is to say - yes, that is my guess. It could very well be both, too. More magical power making it harder to control.

You're the only person here who has experience with this. That makes you the expert by default. But I respect your humility.
Do you think we're in danger?
no subject
I think that it might be reasonable to assume that the security breach that resulted in those ninja attacks isn't entirely isolated.
However, I also think that our fellow guests are all incredibly well-equipped to handle such incidents, even if you shouldn't have to.

[ he assumed they were generated by the same Stand, or whatever... ]
Not much of a vacation if we have to fight to survive.

I agree, of course, especially since I'm not proficient in combat by any means. But hopefully these incidents are few and far between, or perhaps we might discuss with Mr. Bennet ways to enhance security here...

What floor do you live on?

I live on the 24th floor.

If you think you're in danger, contact me.
I won't make any promises, but I'll see what I can do.
[ he doesn't like the idea of innocent people being preyed on helplessly, especially in this place. It's supposed to be -- well, perhaps his own circumstances are more unique, but it should still be some kind of sanctuary. If he still has his Stand, then he might as well use it. ]

I will keep that in mind. Thank you very much.
You won't have to worry, I think. Coincidentally, I have a friend from home here who I can reach out to as well, if something were to happen, but it's helpful to know my options in an emergency.

[ not doubting her - just doubting that it was chance. too weird!! ]
There must be some common trait between all of us. We'll have to wait and see.
