Well well, would you look at that? The place didn’t burn itself down while I was gone, though not for lack of trying. Or so I’ve been told.

Anyway, it looks like we’ve acquired some new faces in the last month. In the grand tradition of the hotel forcing us to get to know one another, why don’t we play a little game?

Is everyone familiar with “two truths and a lie”? It’s simple enough. List three things about yourself, one of which is not true. Others must guess which is the lie.

Here, I’ll go first.

Consider it the latter, then. It certainly isn't a tattoo that I got from a bout of spontaneity.... It is a tattoo that bears a spell in its ink. For protection in case of emergencies.

The statistical odds of sharing a birthday are paradoxically not as unlikely as one might think, so I'd wager the unfortunate lack of time and opportunity to learn how to play the piano. Is that true?

Be that as it may, I did learn the piano in my youth, Mr. Bricks. I'm still a bit out of practice, however, so perhaps it's a bit misleading of me to say that I play it?

Have you met Mr. Nico here by any chance? He's rather skilled and frankly brilliant at it. I've made plans to learn from him... but it would be nice to practice with someone who's getting accustomed to it again, too. I would like that.
