beware the library ghost!
Username/Display Name: un: elderflower / dn: SH.
Server Channel: #general
Time: one fine morning sometime after Book Club
To my fellow guests:
First, I would like to thank everyone who attended Miss Amelia's book club meeting last week. Please remember to thank her for organizing it!
Secondly:
I'm sure we are all aware of supernatural or occult happenings taking place at the hotel from time to time.
That being the case, I would highly discourage anyone from remaining on the library floor after-hours. For one, it seems to decisively close at midnight, leaving you with no way to return to your suite, but also, it appears that a ghost may be haunting the premises thereafter.
[ or, you know, get trapped on purpose to have your own ghostly encounter (?) she's not your boss. ]
All to say: it may be unwise to spend the night at the library, no matter your skillset or ability or no matter how comfortable and cozy the seating there may be. The library houses many great works from across the universe, and I cannot stress enough the importance of ensuring no harm comes to such a collection. It would be best if we simply refrain from angering the after-hours ghost there.
So... please plan your visits accordingly.
Sincerely,
Sumina Heartleaf

Then you're welcome to give it a look at your leisure, Satoru.
I wasn't exactly in a position to simply call upon someone the other night...
no subject
can you tell me exactly what happened?
it didn't try to hurt you, did it?
[ Maybe he's been a bit too flippant about it. He would have noticed the presence of a cursed spirit, but that doesn't mean there couldn't be something else dangerous in there. ]

I approached and individual whom I thought was a fellow guest who needed assistance... She seemed to be standing still with her head slumped against the bookshelves, but any time I tried to speak to her or catch her attention, she began to move in very strange, erratic ways, until she began to levitate and fly around in pursuit...
I... stopped running away after some time, and then she left me alone.
[ Like. She was fully convinced she was gonna die right there and then and gave up... ]

sheesh
i'm glad that's all it was
sounds like your classic grade 4 or lower type curse attack
seriously, if something like that happens again, call me ok?

[ She was legitimately scared, though... is that really "all it was?" Ah, well. It's better not to cause a stir on these public communications with her personal feelings. They're not important, anyway... ]
Yes. I'll try to remember next time. Though I don't think I'll be spending the night at the library again for quite some time.
[ Which sure implies that she has done so before that particular evening. ]

AGAIN, mina-chan????

Not as often as you're probably thinking...

[ as if that makes it any better!! ]

you're as bad as shoko

she has a cursed technique that lets her heal others, sooooo you can imagine how overworked she is

I admit, the sorcerers of my world don't tend to use much healing magic, but... other mages can use such spells. It sounds like healing sorcery is very rare in your world, then?
[ That sounds... Like a lot, for the rare sorcerer who can heal others, then... ]
And if so, then I really don't think I could be as "bad" as her. I'm just a simple innkeeper, Satoru. Not a sorcerer who saves lives.

that's not really how i'm looking at it
you both work way harder than you should have to is what i meant
[ Selling herself short once again, too...she has no idea how invaluable she is to the people who stay at her in, even if she might not be bringing them back from the brink of death the way Shoko does. ]

you guys should take a long trip together sometime
with no libraries to fall asleep in
no subject
[ or would she be stressed out about home, like Sumina was... is. ]
no subject
unfortch i'm not exactly in a position to get in touch with her back home
[ Imagine it though, Satoru's disembodied voice coming out of the Prison Realm to tell Shoko to take a vacation...but she, uh, definitely has her hands full at the moment. ]
no subject
Maybe an invitation will be extended to her in time, then. Or perhaps you can influence Mr. Bennet or someone to do so...
[ or make gege akutami give shoko ieri more lore ]
no subject
that's not a bad idea
i got more than a few colleagues who need to take a load off
vacations are pretty rare in our line of work

i'll be sure to spread the world
nanami is another one who needs to get his ass over their pronto
[ oh sweet summer gojo... ]
no subject
You mean "spread the word."
