Well well, would you look at that? The place didn’t burn itself down while I was gone, though not for lack of trying. Or so I’ve been told.

Anyway, it looks like we’ve acquired some new faces in the last month. In the grand tradition of the hotel forcing us to get to know one another, why don’t we play a little game?

Is everyone familiar with “two truths and a lie”? It’s simple enough. List three things about yourself, one of which is not true. Others must guess which is the lie.

Here, I’ll go first.

To be fair, I had angered a djinni at the time. Though I won't say that I had it coming, cheating, yelling blighter that he was.

But before any of that: what's a bake-danuki?

I didn't suspect that you had deserved it.

[Even if he's not the nicest person in the world, no one deserves to be turned into food.]

A bake-danuki is a tanuki youkai that can change its shape. It often does so to unwitting travelers as a source of self-amusement, eventually taking the traveler unawares. They're generally harmless, content with the game of hide-and-seek they play.

If tanuki are unknown to your world, they're a dog-like animal common in Inazuma.

Sounds like a very irritating critter. Have you fallen victim to one's pranks before?

A few times, yes. You learn to simply let the irritation roll off of you.

You take things in such stride, Kokomi. I imagine should the same happen to me, I'd be brandishing my daggers before any apologies.

Did you threaten the same toward the djinni that turned you into cheese?

I did consider it. But a fight involving clowns erupted elsewhere. I had to toddle off to go help Gale.
