✨ two truths and a lie!

Well well, would you look at that? The place didn’t burn itself down while I was gone, though not for lack of trying. Or so I’ve been told.

Anyway, it looks like we’ve acquired some new faces in the last month. In the grand tradition of the hotel forcing us to get to know one another, why don’t we play a little game?

Is everyone familiar with β€œtwo truths and a lie”? It’s simple enough. List three things about yourself, one of which is not true. Others must guess which is the lie.

Here, I’ll go first.

[ TL;DR - We’re playing two truths and a lie now! Thread hop around and tag each other! Winter will be hopping around to play too, but if folks just want to chat with him now that he’s back that is also fine! ]

1. I don't like to eat seafood if I can avoid it.
2. I have spent time inside of a magical bottle.
3. My favorite book is titled The Serpent and Drakes of Tokoyokoku.

Hmm, this one is difficult, but the second one is strange enough that I cannot help but want to believe it. Is it the third? I can imagine eating seafood might be hard for you, so my guess is that the title of the book is a lie.

You have the right of it. Well done. 🐟

[She's not surprised he got it in one. He's quite bright, and knows her pretty well besides.]

My favorite book is actually the Tevat Art of War. [Because of course it is.] I'd be happy to tell you the story of #2 the next time we get tea together.

A fitting title for a general! I do think the other title would have been believable as well, so it was merely down to process of elimination.

Of course, I would love to hear any stories you have to share next time we meet!

The sea provides so much sustenance I'd find it remarkable to reject it willingly.

I am very curious about this book of Serpents and Drakes, however.

While you're not incorrect, I'm afraid that answer is the truth. Back home, it's not something I share with many people because our economy depends heavily on the fishing industry, but I find it difficult to enjoy seafood, myself.

[Fish are friends, not food. :( ]

The Serpent and Drakes of Tokoyokoku is not my favorite novel, but it is still an excellent read. It's based on folk tales from my island.

Certainly there are alternate means of nutritionβ€” our world, while heavily reliant on the sea, also specializes in fungal cuisine. The hotel here has expanded my palate in unforeseen ways... has it been the same for you?

Does it feature Serpents and Drakes?

With a name like yours... it's quite a difficult guess! But I'll pick two!

Number two is a truth, unbelievable as it sounds.
There was a domain within the bottle.

What sort of domain was it?

Judging just from some of the topics you've run across in your reading adventures, I'd be hard-pressed to believe your fav is something so banal-sounding.

[She hasn't forgotten the suggestion that Kokomi's run into some very interesting romance novel tropes ...apparently she's been sitting on that in her back pocket for a while.]

You a vegetarian? Not my style, but even I've gotta admit those people get creative with what they've got.

you've been to the magical bottle?
