Well well, would you look at that? The place didn’t burn itself down while I was gone, though not for lack of trying. Or so I’ve been told.

Anyway, it looks like we’ve acquired some new faces in the last month. In the grand tradition of the hotel forcing us to get to know one another, why don’t we play a little game?

Is everyone familiar with “two truths and a lie”? It’s simple enough. List three things about yourself, one of which is not true. Others must guess which is the lie.

Here, I’ll go first.

As it turns out, when one makes contact with an ancient, space-faring cephalopod, they shove images of the birth of a galaxy into your head as a way of saying hello.

Yes, that's what we're talking about, though ours don't always come from space. Fiends, fey, and all manner of extraplanar beings have been known to broker such deals.

The pactees are referred to as warlocks.

Well, I mean I know more of it due to my shall we say proclivities and certain hobbies. But not really. Not supposed to be. Sort of forbidden and illegal in most contexts.

If you must know I frequent particular high status social clubs which cater to certain clientele.

Interesting that there are clubs for that sort of thing. Most warlocks become warlocks because they've hit rock bottom.

The club is more for, um... enjoying recreational panacea, but in the company of what society might frown upon; mutated, long dead, less than human in some but not all cases. The only judgement worth passing is the amount of coin kept in your purse. Making pacts appears to range from consensual business arrangements, to, yes rock bottom decisions of desperation or lunacy.

I do enjoy the company of the most interesting sorts there. I suspect you'd fit right in.
