Well well, would you look at that? The place didn’t burn itself down while I was gone, though not for lack of trying. Or so I’ve been told.

Anyway, it looks like we’ve acquired some new faces in the last month. In the grand tradition of the hotel forcing us to get to know one another, why don’t we play a little game?

Is everyone familiar with “two truths and a lie”? It’s simple enough. List three things about yourself, one of which is not true. Others must guess which is the lie.

Here, I’ll go first.

I was a touch preoccupied with the Dribbles nonsense! Shadowheart shoved me onstage with him! An abysmal performance all around, even before he revealed himself to be a shapeshifter. Those puns were absolutely dreadful.

Ha! It would appear so. It's hard to tell up from down, you know, when you're mostly circular. Once I was back to normal, you're lucky I was able to orient myself long enough to hear the sounds of a distant fight.

Shadowheart pushed you on stage, though? Sorry I missed it.

It was her or me; I think she would have pushed me forward in any such situation, to be perfectly honest.

Well. Glad you showed up when you did. You never did answer my question about wine. What variety of cheese? Turmish brick? Elturian grey?

If you MUST know, then I think I'd pair well with a good vintage of Elturian grey. Not that I could tell you for certain. I couldn't exactly take a bite out of myself at the time.

I'll take that as a satisfactory answer. It does seem to suit your personality well enough. Well— seems we can still learn new things about our friends every day, hm?

Yes, but... I hope you mean the wine suits me, and not my life as a sharp, somewhat smelly cheese.

As much as I'd love to preserve that bit of mystery, yes, I did mean the wine, not to worry. You smell just fine.

Considering how ripe the lot of us got trudging all over the Sword Coast without hope for a bath a tenday at the time, perhaps it's more the lack of smell, in this instance.

On that note, showers are by far my favorite modern fixture.

The showers are nice, I'll agree. But nothing beats a hot bath.

Gods, I'll hardly argue that. Hot baths with cedarwood and lavender oil...

Now that I think about it... do you think a shower would constitute as a vampiric bane?

Hmm, that's a very interesting question. I hadn't given that much thought, being a bit preoccupied with thinking of how to engineer such a thing should I have the good fortune to return to my tower in Waterdeep.

Is it a bane if the water is not naturally flowing? You managed well enough in the cistern, but I suppose that water moves at more of a slow crawl than a run.

I would think, perhaps, that it needs to be flowing at a certain speed. It's not like I've had the inclination or the chance to test it out, mind you.

Indeed, hardly worth the risk. The price one would pay for being wrong...

It shall remain a mere thought experiment for now! Fortunately, there are few things more exquisite than a well-drawn bath, and those are suitable for the living and undead alike.
