Well well, would you look at that? The place didn’t burn itself down while I was gone, though not for lack of trying. Or so I’ve been told.

Anyway, it looks like we’ve acquired some new faces in the last month. In the grand tradition of the hotel forcing us to get to know one another, why don’t we play a little game?

Is everyone familiar with “two truths and a lie”? It’s simple enough. List three things about yourself, one of which is not true. Others must guess which is the lie.

Here, I’ll go first.

Welcome back! I hope you had a fulfilling trip back home. Your presence was certainly missed. Tell me, is all well back in Waterdeep?

Also, I'm going to hazard a guess and say that second one is a lie. The last item on the list is too fascinating, if true!

Glad to hear it! It's been far too long since I've seen the place myself, or at least the real thing. Regardless, I'm pleased to see you decided to return to us. Fortunately, you did not miss terribly much— the hotel is still standing despite a number of the floors turning into pools of molten lava for a time.

I had a feeling! It complements your complexion too well to not be natural.

If you're asking about Baldur's Gate, I've not heard a peep. It doesn't seem like my going back affected anything, so you and Astarion are fine to continue on with your vacation.

That's certainly a relief. I suppose I was, but it's a difficult thing to be direct about. I'm still not even certain you and I are from the same Waterdeep, though I certainly hope so. It would be nice to have another friend there in the event that I return.

Gods above, we had better be. I'd rather not have to call in a favor to a certain innkeeper friend of mine to find which version of the Sword Coast you and Astarion are in.

It would be terribly inconvenient otherwise, yes.

I suppose if it comes to that, you can use my tower as a landmark for the right one, but better to skip the need for that altogether. Are you at all familiar with Windgate Tower in the Sea Ward?

I'm afraid so. I'm certain there are all sorts of colorful rumors flying about. Imagine my surprise when the rumor that I'd passed away reached my ears!

I believe my personal favorite was that I had begun performing experiments on those caught trespassing.

I should! That fabricated version of Gale of Waterdeep would be quite a character, indeed. I assure you, however, that given the opportunity, you can approach Windgate Tower without fear or risk of injury. Just don't antagonize the suits of armor in the corridors.

You know, I've gotten quite good at navigating this server over the last few months... though admittedly, the pet names aren't a dead giveaway all on their own.
