I teach literature at a high school level (think ages 15-18) and while I enjoy my job, talking about books with other enthusiasts is different from students who are still developing their critical thinking skills.
And aside from Advanced Placement courses, Pride and Prejudice is not material I would have on my curriculum. Each generation needs to be exposed to stories that are culturally resonant and relevant.
Basically, in so many words, I just think an easygoing book club would be fun. No papers to grade.
